I believe the best way to understand software is to watch it work. So I've recorded a short tour of Curfew Suite: about four minutes, real screens, nothing staged. Here's what you'll see, and why it works the way it does.

Start with what you need

Your workspace begins with the apps you use. Switch to All Apps to see what else is available, and depending on your permissions you can add an app, assign it to yourself, or request access. Your workspace grows as your work does.

One shape, every app

Every Curfew app is built the same way. Workspace is where you get things done, Insights is where you understand what's happening, and Settings is where authorized people configure the app. Learn one app, and you've learned the shape of all of them.

The composer

Most software greets you with a form. Curfew greets you with a single line. Tell it what you need in your own words: a ticket to fix a printer in Berlin, a hundred-thousand-dollar process assessment deal with Acme, a transfer between bank accounts. The composer reads what you type and fills in what it can, and chips let you add details when you want to. If you'd rather have structure, switch to Form view, with fields tailored to each app.

Records, registers and views

Each app keeps its information in one or more registers. Open a ticket, a deal or a transaction and you'll find a page designed for that kind of work. We call each record an atomic unit: tailored to its app, familiar everywhere. To change how you see a group of records, click View, or just press V: a table, a board or a spreadsheet, sorted and filtered your way. Or describe what you want, and Alfred builds the view for you.

Insights, slash and To-dos

Insights gives every app a home for up to six favorite reports, and opening one gives you the full picture, by date or by person. When you're looking for something specific, press slash: it starts as a simple search, and brings Alfred in when you need more. To-dos gathers the work that needs your attention across your apps, from a ticket due soon to something waiting for your approval.

Alfred, wherever you are

Alfred understands where you're working. Inside an app, he starts with that app. Open him from the main navigation, and he can help across all your apps.

Simple above, sophisticated beneath

Everything in the tour comes back to one idea I care about: complexity belongs behind the scenes, never in your hands. Curfew Suite is capable underneath and simple on the surface, and I hope the tour shows you what that feels like.

Rest easy. It's covered.
